PH AMBASSADOR PRESENTS CREDENTIALS AS NON-RESIDENT AMBASSADOR TO THE REPUBLIC OF CUBA
Philippine Ambassador Lilybeth R. Deapera presented her credentials as Non-Resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to President Miguel Díaz-Canel of the Republic of Cuba at the Palacio de la Revolución on 15 June 2023.

AMBASSADOR LILYBETH R. DEAPERA RECEIVES FORMER MEXICAN AMBASSADOR TO THE PHILIPPINES ERENVIRA PAZ CAMPOS
Ambassador Lilybeth R. Deapera received a courtesy call from Ambassador Erenvira Paz Campos on 03 August 2023.
Ambassador Paz served as the Mexican Ambassador to the Philippines from 2005 to 2008. She is currently the Vice President of Women's Affairs of the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council and a professor at the Mexican Institute of the Ministry of National Defense.
THE PHILIPPINES HANDS OVER THE CHAIRMANSHIP OF THE ASEAN COMMITTEE IN MEXICO CITY
Ambassador Lilybeth R. Deapera turned over the chairmanship of the ASEAN Committee in Mexico City (ACMC) to Ambassador Paisan Rupanichkij of the Royal Thai Embassy on 31 July 2023.
Under its chairmanship from 14 March to 31 July 2023, the Philippines initiated the following activities to promote the ASEAN thrusts to further enhance ASEAN-Mexico relations: a dialogue with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Directorate General for Asia Pacific and the ACMC Business Mission to Colima in May, as well as the Meeting between the ACMC Working Group and the SRE - Directorate General for Protocol and the first ever Trade and Investment Forum in Mexico City in June.
The five members of the ACMC (Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam) will continue to work closely to create more opportunities to bring peace and prosperity to the ASEAN Community.
PH EMBASSY, DMW, OWWA (WDC) AND SSS (NY) ROLL OUT OFW VIRTUAL CARAVAN IN MÉXICO AND CENTRAL AMERICA
The Philippine Embassy in México partnered with the Migrant Workers Office, OWWA Washington, D.C. and SSS New York to conduct a “Virtual OFW Info Caravan”, for the benefits of the Overseas Filipino Workers in Mexico and Central America.
The speakers of the online event were Labor Attache Saul de Vries, Welfare Officer Mae Codilla and SSS Representative Ms. Celenia Dimaano.
Labatt Saul De Vries discussed the mandate and services being provided by the Department of Migrant Workers through the Migrant Workers Office in Washington, D.C.
In a video presentation, Welfare Officer Mae Codilla briefed the participants on the history of OWWA, its services and the benefits that it provides its members.
While, Ms. Celenia Dimaano, Social Security System (SSS) representative based in New York discussed the online facility of the SSS, which is a more convenient tool for Overseas Filipinos/Workers to use when transacting with SSS.
Nine of the countries under Post’s jurisdiction were represented except for Cuba, where internet connection is very unstable. Aside from the OFWs, also present during the event were Philippine Honorary Consuls Francisco Cue of Monterrey, Mexico and Limuel Dadulo of the Dominican Republic. They both expressed their appreciation for the opportunity as they actively participated in the Q&A portion of the event.
