PH EMBASSY IN MEXICO CHECKS IN WITH DOUBLE DRAGON CORPORATION AND HOTEL 101
The Philippine Embassy in Mexico met with Chairman Edgar Injap Sia II, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the DoubleDragon Corporation.
CEO Injap informed the Embassy of DoubleDragon's expansion plans which include the building and opening of a Hotel101 in Mexico. Hotel101 is a subsidiary company of the DoubleDragon Corporation and positioned to operate in Japan and Spain. The corporation intends to expand the Filipino hotel chain operation in twenty-five (25) countries with projects being finalized in Italy and the Middle-East.
The hotel will have around five hundred (500) rooms and is expected to be one of the biggest hotels in Mexico. In addition, the hotel will also be promoting Filipino culture and hospitality by donning banig designs in all of its rooms and hiring Filipino staff to man the hotel. END

PH EMBASSY IN MEXICO CELEBRATES INTL MOTHER LANGUAGE DAY 2025
The Philippine Embassy in Mexico attended the celebration of International Mother Language Day organized by the Embassy of Bangladesh in Mexico held at Iberoamerican University in Mexico City on 21 February 2025.
H.E. Mushfiqul Fazal, Bangladesh Ambassador in Mexico, discussed the history of the establishments of the International Mother Language Day and underscored the sacrifices made by his people for their mother language and the importance of multilingualism globally. He encouraged the audience to self-reflect and research policies that protect linguistic diversity.
Ambassadors of Malaysia, South Africa, Cote d'Ivoire, including Ms. Xochitl Galvez (former Presidential candidate of Mexico in 2024) echoed the same message as they all come from countries with diverse languages and culture. END
PH EMBASSY IN MEXICO CELEBRATES ARTS MONTH AT THE GALERIA NUDO, SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE
Mexico, 25 February 2025 – In celebration of the Philippine National Arts Month, the Philippine Embassy in Mexico visited Galería Nudo in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato on 22 February 2025. Galería Nudo houses the artwork of the late Filipino artist, Romeo V. Tabuena.
Mr. Alcides Fortes, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Galería Nudo conducted a tour and explained the pieces on display to the visiting diplomats and their families.
The biggest masterpiece in the gallery depicts Philippine rural life, showing various Filipino livelihoods and activities. A frame of different news clippings and photos of Tabuena can be seen in the gallery, displaying his importance as an artist in San Miguel de Allende.
