Mexico City – The Philippine Embassy in Mexico met with Director Seberina Ortega, together with other officials of the Coordination of Forensic Research and Expert Services of the Attorney General´s Office (FGJ) on 29 April 2025.
Consul Ralf G. Roldan shared the government's intention to establish a National Forensics Institute of the Philippines (NFI) and inquired about possible technical partnerships and collaborations with FGJ. The NFI aims to strengthen the country's justice system and expertise in the field of forensics.
Forensics Director Ortega presented on FGJ’s history, its growing specializations in the field of forensics, and highlighted Mexico's DNA Bank. The Embassy was also given an exclusive tour of Forensics facilities, including its new two-story building which is set to be completed and be fully operational by July 2025. END
