PH EMBASSY IN MEXICO TOGETHER WITH THE ASEAN COMMITTEE IN MEXICO CITY MEETS WITH THE MEXICAN COUNCIL FOR FOREIGN TRADE, INVESTMENT AND TECHNOLOGY
The Philippine Embassy in Mexico joined the ASEAN Committee in Mexico City (ACMC) in meeting with the Mexican Council for Foreign Trade, Investment, and Technology (COMCE) last 10 April 2025.
The Malaysian Ambassador, as the Chair of the ACMC, shared his strategies in encouraging Mexico to sign and accede to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (TAC) before this year's Senior Officials Meeting in Kuala Lumpur.
COMCE has agreed to assist the ACMC in arranging more events not just for the business community but for the public in general, that would aid in promoting ASEAN in the country. END
PH EMBASSY IN MEXICO WELCOMES STUDENTS FROM THE UNIVERSIDAD NACIONAL AUTÓNOMA DE MÉXICO – ACATLÁN CAMPUS
Mexico City – The Philippine Embassy in Mexico welcomed 18 students from the Programa Estudiantil de Debates Acatlán (PEDA), a student debate organization of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) – Acatlán campus, on 07 April 2025.
Third Secretary Marisa R. Winkler gave the lecture presentation on the work of the Embassy, the Philippines, and its bilateral relations with Mexico. A lively interaction between First Secretary Ralf G. Roldan, the Third Secretary, and the students ensued following the presentation.
The students expressed interest in learning more about the Philippines and understanding foreign service.
The Embassy extended its deep appreciation to the students of PEDA – UNAM Acatlán for taking the initiative to learn more about the Philippines. END.
THIRD EPISODE OF LA HISTORIA OLVIDADA: FILIPINAS Y MEXICO 2025
In celebration of the Philippine National Food Month, the Philippine Embassy in Mexico, in partnership with the University of the Philippines-Diliman, El Colegio de San Luis, and the Philippine-Mexico Studies Program, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), invites you to the third episode of “LA HISTORIA OLVIDADA: FILIPINAS-MEXICO 2025,” a virtual colloquium series on Philippine-Mexico relations, to be held via Zoom on 25 April 2025 at 6:30-8:00 P.M., Mexico City time (26 April 2025 at 8:30-10:00 A.M., Philippine time).
The resource speaker, Chef Claude Tayag, Filipino artist, restaurateur and food writer, will talk on “The Philippines – More Mexican than Spanish: Foodways that Crossed the Pacific”. The presentation will be in English.
This colloquium series which will be streamed live via Post’s YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@PHinMexico/streams aims to highlight pivotal events and contexts that have shaped the engagements between the Philippines and Mexico, spanning from the sixteenth century to the contemporary period.

PH EMBASSY IN MEXICO SHOWCASES PH CULTURE AT THE WESTHILL INSTITUTE FOUNDATION DAY
Mexico City – The Philippine Embassy in Mexico participated in the Westhill Institute Foundation Day on 05 April 2025 at the Westhill Institute – Santa Fe Campus.
The event saw the attendance of representatives from the embassies of South Korea, the United States of America, and the Philippines. Students of the prestigious educational institution presented performances that were culturally inspired by various countries, such as Brazil, India, Ghana, Mexico, and South Korea, among others.
The embassy personnel and volunteers performed the Binasuan, Kuratsa, and Tinikling. Mexican volunteers demonstrated the Philippine national sport and martial art, Arnis.
The annual event celebrates the rich cultural diversity within the institution’s community. END.
