Cultural similarities

The Philippine Embassy in Mexico, in partnership with the Mexican Ministry of Culture (SECULT) and the National Institute of Anthropology (INAH), will conduct a virtual lecture highlighting the cultural similarities between the Philippines and Mexico on 24 August 2023, Thursday, from 09:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. via Zoom to be livestreamed on Facebook.

The event is one of the commemorative activities under the celebration of the 70th anniversary of PH-Mexico diplomatic relations.

Even before the formal establishment of diplomatic relations on 14 April 1953, both countries have already exchanged and adopted cultural influences through the Manila-Acapulco Galleon Trade. This lecture aims to rediscover the cultural linkages that bind the two countries together despite the geographic distance.
