PH EMBASSY CONCLUDES THE OBSERVANCE OF THE 18-DAY CAMPAIGN AGAINST VAW WITH A SELF-DEFENSE ARNIS CLASS
The Philippine Embassy in Mexico invited the Sistemas de Defensa Personal Urbana to teach a basic arnis class for self-defense in culmination of the 18-day campaign to end violence against women (VAW) on 11 December 2023.
Throughout the campaign from 25 November to 12 December 2023, the personnel of the Philippine Embassy and the members of the Filipino Community were encouraged to wear an orange ribbon to symbolize their support on the elimination of VAW in the society.
The Philippine Embassy wishes to express its appreciation to Ms. Luisa Isani Gonzalez Guerrero and Mr. Lenin Betanzo Mendoza for sharing their knowledge during the arnis class.
PH EMBASSY CELEBRATES CHRISTMAS WITH THE FILIPINO COMMUNITY
The Philippine Embassy in Mexico hosted a Christmas gathering with at least 50 members of the Filipino Community in its premises on 03 December 2023. The program highlighted the spirit of love and gratitude through the celebration of the Holy Eucharist presided by Fr. Jeffrey Yague Udasco, fun-filled games for kids and adults, gift-giving and a potluck lunch.
The Embassy extends its warmest appreciation to those who shared this joyous occasion with us, and wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year!
3RD EPISODE: LA HISTORIA OLVIDADA: FILIPINAS- MÉXICO 2023
The Embassy of the Philippines in Mexico, in partnership with the University of the Philippines-Diliman, El Colegio de San Luis, and Philippine-Mexico Studies Program, Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) invites everyone to the third episode of LA HISTORIA OLVIDADA: FILIPINAS-MEXICO 2023, a virtual colloquium series on Philippine-Mexico relations, to be held via Zoom on 19 December 2023 at 6:30-8:00 P.M., Mexico City time (20 December 2023 at 8:30-10:00 A.M., Philippine time).
The resource speaker, Ms. Maricruz Piza Lopez, Ph.D. Candidate, El Colegio de Michoacán , will talk on “Southeast Asian Cuisine on the Costa Grande of Guerrero”. Her presentation will be in English.
This colloquium series aims to highlight pivotal events and contexts that have shaped the engagements between the Philippines and Mexico, spanning from the sixteenth century to the contemporary period.
