2024 national women's month
The Philippine Embassy in Mexico joins the Filipino nation in the celebration of the 2024 National Women's Month this March.
The sub-theme, “Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patutunayan!”, aims to create a more equal and inclusive future in terms of gender norms and culture.
FIRST EPISODE OF LA HISTORIA OLVIDADA: FILIPINAS-MÉXICO 2024
The Philippine Embassy in Mexico, in partnership with Dr. Tomas Calvillo of El Colegio de San Luis, conducted the first episode of "La Historia Olvidada: Filipinas-México 2024" on 16 February 2024 via Zoom. The virtual event attracted more than 100 participants from all over the world, including those who watched the livestream via the Embassy´s Youtube channel www.youtube.com/@MexicoPE2023
In this episode, Mr. Xabier Agote Aizpura, a shipwright and founder of Albaola Itsas Kultur Faktoria (a maritime museum and shipyard based in Spain), spoke about "Maritime Heritage as Social Development and the Characteristics of the First Manila Galleon." He emphasized on the importance of maritime heritage in the promotion of culture and history, as well as its impact on the economy and society. Moreover, he discussed the characteristics and the significant role played by the first Manila Galleon in the relations between the Philippines and Mexico.

Imagination takes you there
In celebration of the 2024 National Arts Month, everyone is invited to the inauguration of the art exhibition titled “Imagination Takes You There” on 22 February 2024, Thursday, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM (Philippine Time) at the DFA Main Lobby.
The art exhibition aims to highlight the transformative influence of creativity and imagination in shaping personal narratives and cultural expressions. It features the works of retired Ambassador Uriel Norman Garibay and eight of his fellow artists from the Linangan Art Residency in Alfonso, Cavite. The exhibit also invites the audience to explore the intersection between diplomacy and art that fosters creativity and artistic excellence.
